Members and guests of Lake Pointe enjoy a 50+ acre undeveloped wildlife area, featuring a 0.7 Mile Hike & Bike Trail loop. This beautiful piece of land is surrounded by Canyon Lake on 3 sides. The peninsula is comprised of field grasses and sparse clusters of oak trees, other hardy woody plants and prickly pear cactus. Throughout the year, many different varieties and colors of Texas wildflowers make a showy display. There is also no shortage of wildlife out here, including white-tailed deer, foxes, squirrels, songbirds, raptors, owls, coyotes, horned lizards (horny toad), turtles, snakes, and the very rarely seen mountain lion.
Canyon Lake Access
Along the hike and bike trails, you’ll find three lake access points; Tabitha’s Landing, The Pointe, and Pontoon Pointe. Since the lake levels are over 20′ low at present, the shore keeps receding further and further out. So if you see trash on the shore, don’t worry, our volunteers regularly patrol the shoreline and collect the trash. And if you feel like getting a little bit better workout, just ask the folks at the Clubhouse Store for a few yellow trash bags… we sure appreciate it! We love Lake Pointe and we want you to love it too!
