DESCRIPTION:Lake Pointe Salutes Our Veterans!\nEach year\, on November 11\, Americans come together to honor and remember the courage\, sacrifice\, and commitment of our nation’s veterans. From those who served in times of peace to those who faced the perils of battle\, all veterans have answered the call to protect and preserve the freedoms we hold dear. Veterans Day is a time to reflect on the legacy of service that spans generations and to express our deepest gratitude for the men and women who have defended our country. Their bravery and dedication continue to inspire us\, reminding us of the cost of freedom and the strength of our nation. \nWorld War I\, known then as “The Great War\,” formally concluded with the signing of the Treaty of Versailles on June 28\, 1919\, in France. Yet the intense battles actually came to a halt seven months earlier\, when a ceasefire between the Allied forces and Germany took effect at the symbolic moment of the eleventh hour on the eleventh day of the eleventh month. Thus\, November 11\, 1918\, is widely recognized as marking the end of “the war to end all wars.” \nToday\, Veterans Day remains fixed on November 11\, regardless of the day of the week\, to honor the historical significance of this date. This steadfast observance allows us to focus on the true meaning of Veterans Day: a tribute to the courage\, dedication\, and selfless service of America’s veterans\, who have shown unwavering patriotism and sacrificed for the greater good. \n  \n

DESCRIPTION:Lake Pointe Welcomes our Friends & Family\nWhere:  Scott Hall \nWho:  Members and their invited guests\, guests of LPR staying for that weekend. \nThanks to the planning committee:  Tiffany\, Susan W.\, Susan G.\, Bruce\, Bill\, Cathy\, Gigi\, Jeanne. \nPlanning committee members are providing turkey\, ham\, mashed potatoes and gravy and sweet potatoes. \nLPR members who are attending are asked to sign up for the event se we have a head count.  We also ask you to bring a dish to share or contribute money towards the purchase of the turkey and hams.  Please ask and we will give you a paypal or Venmo account to send your financial contribution. \nAdditional Food Items Needed:\n\nVegetable (green bean casserole\, corn or your favorite veggie tray)\nStuffing or your favorite carb – mac and cheese\, rice pilaf\, etc.\nCranberries your favorite way\nRolls\nDessert\n\nPlease bring your dish ready to serve – preferably in a disposable dish or foil pan.  If you have cooked it in a crock pot\, please transfer it to a disposable container to help with our cleanup efforts. \nWant to Bring an Item?\nUse the following form to signup for the Additional Food Items Needed.
